Wompatuck State Park Hingham MA

Today was a great example of a New England fall day. Lots of sun, cool to warm temps, dry air.

14.6 miles in under two hours.

Our technical skills are still improving. Pete brings a lot of technical information to the rides and tries out new riding techniques.

Great ride today!

Wompy is very scenic place. It offers many different views. From deep woods, to giant rocks near the water. A deer ran out in front / across from us on one of the NW trails.

Over 14 miles at Wompatuck

Wx was a perfect fall day. Pete and I got started around 7:30 AM.

14 miles of trails in about 2 hours of ride time.

We started the NW trails from the Visitors Center, avoided Prospect Hill, since this was going to be our first attempt to loop the whole park. Then down S34,
We ended up in South Field section, did some more stuff and ended up at the top of Union Street. Then we road North on Union Street. Picked up the trails on the other side. Trails went though the Scout Areas. Then we snaked around the Reservoir and power lines. Then around the the Nature Study Area, and back into the "newer" NEMBA loops that are South of the section marked on the map as: Closed Area. These trails led us back to the Visitor Center.

Wompatuck State Park Ride

Wx was great. 70's F. Sunny, not humid. We road the first part about 9.2 miles. After Part one we decided to cross over the main road and visit some of the trails that we have not rode in years. Overall a great ride. About 14 miles of riding today. Nice to be able to hit the trails on a weekday.
