Simply Walking

The new job has taken up much of my free time. Now on the weekends I want to save time. Starting this weekend, I have started walking instead of hiking and biking. One neat thing about walking, there is minimal setup time. I don't have to gear up, set up, or even drive to a park.

There's something great about walking out the front door, and your outdoor activity has started all ready.

Day 1: Cloudy Temp in the mid 60s F. I was just going to walk down to the end of Quincy Shore Drive to the CVS to see how long it too. Well at 27 minutes, I felt like that was too quick, so I kept on walking. I walked all the way to Squantum Point Park. I walked there via the paved nature path that's on a side street that's sort of behind Dunken Donuts. This nature path bends around a marshy area that used to on the old grounds of the Naval Airport. In fact, all of Squantum Point Park is on these same grounds. Lots of neat history here. This path leads out to Commander Shea Drive. From there I walked into the Marina Bay roads. These's roads lead right into the Park. Squantum Point park is awesome for: Walking, birdwatching, and enjoying the Boston Harbor views. If you like watching jets on final approach than this park is also great for that. This walk too me just over two hours to complete, round trip.

Day 2: I had so much fun with the first walk, I did the same walk today. This time I ran into and old friend from an old job. It was nice catching up on each other's news. Also this time I checked out another path that I noticed on the other side of Commander Shea. This path was great! It ran along the next to the water, right next to the Boston Scientific building. The path turned into a wooded path that lead into Squatum Point Park. I could not make it to the main paved trails in the park this time, because of bad flooding. So I turned around and found a short path back to a small beach. This walk also took two hours to complete. It was sunny and the temps in the mid 50s F.
